Caitlyn,
Cody had his spleen removed yesterday. He, almost like your Kodo was having
a hard time walking, he couldn't go up the steps in his cage, dragged his
tummy through his pee & couldn't go in & out of litter boxes.

We thought it would be touch & go with him going into surgery but the only 2
options he had was to go for exploratory or be put to sleep, mainly because
of the pain he was in. We took the chance on exploratory, reasoning if it
was bad inside the vet wouldn't wake him up.

The vet said that it was the largest spleen he has even seen in a ferret, it
should have been in a 30 pound dog. Everything else inside looked good
except for 2 lymph glands that were darker in color than they should have
been, they were removed & sent off to be tested.

Doc said he was very impressed with as he called him, "Old Man Cody", for
the way he came through surgery & had no problem waking up at all. Doc said
he is a little too thin & my reasoning is that probably because his spleen
was so large & pushing on his stomach, he couldn't eat as much as he usually
would have, he probably felt full faster.

Cody seems to be doing very good & even if the results come back positive
for Lymphoma, his life has been extended & will be good for the time being.

Sincerely,
Lynn & Clan War Weasels
