Subject: Chronic Diarrhea

My ferret had a reoccuring rash and our vet changed him from Superpet ferret food to ZD (not sure what brand). This helped a little for the rash. A month later he started having chronic diarrhea and the rash came back. He was put on prednizone, ammoxicillian, carafate liquid, and metrodiazondale(?). He slowly got better. This has been going on for over three months with no other symptoms. As we started winging him off the meds he got bad again. We changed food to low residue food. After three weeks we began trying to come off the meds again. He is right back where we started. We are on all meds listed above minus the pred. Everytime I try and give the meds now, he foams at the mouth, spits it out, bites me, etc. We're both miserable - please help. Thanks.
