If surgery removes even some or most of the insulinomas then the insulin level goes
way down, and initially the ferret can even
run high blood sugars until they stabilize, then hopefully the pancreas
will kick back in and produce the insulin like it should. While the insulinomas are
active, the pancreas turns down or even off the insulin production since there is
enough around.

If you can monitor the blood sugar, then you will know better if needs any added
glucose or meds at all. If the sugars are going very low, or unstable, sometimes
glucose needs to be added just to keep the ferret from having seizures. But you are
right, in general, glucose will mean more insulin production.
