You need to call your vet. Or better yet, get Bob back in tomorrow to get his glucose level checked and while there, ask questions.

I'm not sure why he would be given pred, glucose and valium after insulinoma surgery. As Sukie said, sugar is usually only given during a hypoglycemic (low glucose) crisis or possibly in small amounts at end stage when nothing else helps. I'm not a vet so I don't know if there may be some valid reason why valium has been prescibed. I just can't think of any. I've only known valium to be given when they're having seizures and not routinely after insulinoma surgery.

Get in touch with your vet, ask questions and express your concerns.

So wouldnt it be sending it higher by giving glucose? at the same time giving pediapred. I am so worried that I am doing the wrong thing. Meanwhile I cant really tell if he is having low blood suger symptoms because he is on liquid valium. Somebody please make some sense of this to me so I can sleep at night.
