Hormones have a pretty short life. Once you remove the gland that is pumping them out, hormone levels should fall quickly. Things like hair follicles take a while to wake back up after stopping the hormones, but otherwise, I'd GUESS hormone levels are back to normal levels in a day or two.

I would not allow a ferret that had major surgery out to romp around any sooner than a week. I try to keep them pretty restricted until the sutures are out - or 10 days if they've used surgical glue. But that's me.
