Subject: Biaxin, amoxi, carafate not working advice please

I have two ferrets that just are not getting over the ulcers/ helicobacter.=
Perhaps I should start looking at other reasons for the teeth grinding etc=
. but I don't have a clue what else it could be.
Ferret #1- female 2 years old silvermitt with bib. MF. First treated for He=
licobacter 8/03 with amoxi,flagyl, pepto bismol, cimetidine,carafat regime =
for 21 days. Seemed to work okay but the schedule of 9 different medicine g=
iving times was grueling on me. 6 weeks ago noticed her chewing fabric and =
losing weight again. she never grinds her teeth. Used Biaxin 2 times a day =
with Amoxi 2 times a day for 14 days. NO real changes. Was off of meds for =
a week then started Biaxin, Amoxi 3 times a day with carafate 10 minutes be=
fore meds. for 14 days. I thought she was better but now 8 days later she h=
as started showing signs of pain again. Slight weight loss after gaining it=
back during treatment. This am she was trying to vomit after eating. I gav=
e her some pepto and she rested. She just isn't right.Any ideas for Baby?
Ferret #2-MF male silver blaze. 2 years old. First treated for Helicobacter=
10/03 with amoxi,flagyl, pepto bismol, cimetidine,carafat regime for 21 da=

4 started losing weight.3/04 started grinding teeth. Started treatment. Use=

n, Amoxi 3 times a day with carafate 10 minutes before meds. and put on a c=
hicken baby food diet. Food given about every 5 hours all he wants. Eats li=
ke a horse. He eats about 1.5 oz. at every feeding. Still grinds teeth when=
I give him the carafate. He lays on his back,. paws crossed and just grind=
s away Sometimes I will rub his tummy for him and he seems to like that. Ye=
sterday (day 22 in treatment) he tried to eat his regular kibble (Natural G=
old) and just about ground his teeth away before I could get to him and giv=
e him some carafate. Then about 4 hours later he tried to vomit. I gave him=
some pepto and he felt better. He is 5 days from ending this regime and I =
don't really see any improvements other than his weight gain. I don't alway=
s give him carafate before the baby food but he doesn't grind his teeth eit=
her. He grinds his teeth a t medication times. Also, sometimes his stool lo=
oks like there is unused Biaxin in it as I see little white specs. Any advi=
ce?? What should I do if I get to day 28 and he still is grinding the teeth=
? Should I go back to the old regime and forget the new and improved versi=
on? Has anyone had this happen to them? Titus would appreciate any advice f=
