This is sterotypical adrenal disorder. If this were
my ferret, he'd be in for surgery ASAP, and I would
require the vet to remove one of the glands whether he
thought they looked enlarged or not. After surgery,
expect it to take a while (months even) for the
behavior to stop -- some component of it is learned,
and is somewhat of a habit. It takes a while to
subside.
