I received a ferret for x-mas 2004. He is just under one year old and he is the joy of my life. He is smart, funny and we both love him very much.
Unfortunately, he has become ill with something I and my vet are not too sure of. He is very sore around the stomach area and is inflamed. He also has a temperature and has lost almost a pound. The vet suggested we start him on antibiotics and try to feed him as much as we can to get his weight up.
He eats a little and drinks a little, not as much as usuall. He has bowel movements and he also urinates. When he is out of his cage, he usually runs all over the place and is in to everything. Now, he runs a little and lays down, repeats this and then crawls into our bed and sleeps more then usual.
I really love him and i DO NOT want to lose him..
Is there anyone out there that can help me?
I would appreciate any suggestions from someone who knows more about this.
