I recently had the same problem with my ferret "Rufus" He showed no other signs
of adrenal disease but the dominance thing. He had done this on occasion (very
rarely) but it escalated in recent months and finally got to the point where we had to
house him separatly. I so desparatly wanted it to be something other than adrenal
disease and the fact that he was totally healthy otherwise made it a hard decision to
have surgery. I did however,(after 2 months of denial) take him for surgery 6 days
ago. He did have a tumor on his left adrenal gland. I am so gald I went ahead and
did it. He was in great health and he is having a speedy recovery and doing real
well. This is a symptom of adrenal disease and could possibly be the only display of
symptoms for a while. The surgery was 250.00 The Tennesse panel test is approx
125.00 I skipped the test and went straight to surgery. I am glad I did. Speaking
as someone who recently went through the same thing I would just have the
surgery.
