And this is a problem I've had with ferret health products in general. I don't mind spending the extra money for the FERRET product if it is for a reason. I have purchased, for example, the following items in the creation of a first aid kit for the ferrets:
Marshall Ferret Wound-Aide
Marshall PriBiotic+ Digestive Tract Conditioner
Marshall Ferret Short-Cut Styptic Powder
(and of course) Marshall Ferret Dental Gel
And I stopped short of buying: "Marshall Ferret Aide Electrolyte Hydration Concentrate" as I have a bottle of Pedialyte already. I wouldn't want to give the impression I'm *gullible* or anything. ^_^
My thought was, I buy the stuff once, just to see what the ingredients are at the very least. I could then compare these ingredients to the products from other companies.
Why aren't the ingredients for the ferret products listed online (compared to many human products)?
I am not a big Marshall Farms fan, but I am unwilling to compromise the ferrets health for my opinions (I am a veg, the ferrets are not). I don't want to subject them a lower quality product.
Even if the ingredients are the same between two products, I am still cautious. Let's say "ingredient F" is in both "Cat Product X" and "Ferret Product Y". What if "ingredient F" is dangerous to ferrets at certain concentrations, but not to cats? Both products will list "ingredient F", but "Cat Product X" could be harmful while "Ferret Product Y" is safe.
Neurotically Yours,
Tiffany
