Generally speaking, hair loss is not considered one of the indicators of insulinoma.

Adrenal disease, not insulinoma, causes hair loss, though there certainly can be other causes. I have a somewhat neurotic cat that has gone through periods of barbering and the hair is short in patches. Sort of like an area that has a crew cut. It's never bare or thin, just real short. And it's not symetrical. Never heard of a ferret doing this, but I'm sure there may be cases of it.

Hind-leg weakness is pretty unspecific. Just about any illness that can cause weakness can bring it about. Injury is another possibility.
