Yes I think w/d is too high in fiber possible too low in fat but in a mix it
might be acceptable, not preferred. Z/D is okay but I personally am not a
fan, but I think others here on the list have used it with some success. I
like IVD's Select Care Neutral Formula for cats which is moderate fat and
moderate fiber and is specifically designed or IBD in cats and is
prescription too. I also like the IVD single protein and carbohydrate
diets, ie venison and green pea, rabbit andgreen pea, duck and green pea
(but this sometimes crossreacts with other poulty products if allergic), and
lamb and green pea. Once more stable can consider surgery but some prefer a
treatment trial. The pros with surgery is you can rule out other problems
like partial obstruction, lymphoma, etc. It also depends on the condition
your guy is in. Hope this helps. I know others on this list also have
extensive info on diets they use for IBD including our moderator, Sukie.
