Ferrets don't have the naked skin with perspiration which we have so fans don't really make much difference, unless they are being used for evaporative cooling by blowing on wet cloth on or near the cage.
Ice bottles (seltzer or pop bottles with water which are then frozen) cen be useful for localized cooling.
