It is not uncommon for some people to identify a left adrenalectomy and the
"debulking" of the right adrenal gland as a bilateral-adrenalectomy.
Some veterinarians are still unprepared to either ligate or cryo the right
adrenal, especially if it is invasive of the venacava. Many elect to only excise
as much adrenal tissue as they feel comfortable in doing. This selected
procedure is sometimes not made clear to the ferret owner.
Because HRT was vacated, this may have been the case presented here.
