Hello all! I have been a member of this forum for a year or so, but haven't posted much. However, I do have a question now and ask for your advice. My mother's ferret just had a reaction to the distemper shot about a week ago and it was very severe. He was on IV and the vet gave him a shot of the benadryl. Anyways, my question is that now he is scratching consistently on the back of his neck. He scratched so much that all of the hair is gone and it was bleeding. We tried putting a bandage over it and we even put a ferret sweater over the wound...but that didn't work. We were putting some aloe on it to help it heal and that seemed to help some. However, it has scabbed over somewhat, but my concern is the hair growth and if this is a common side effect of the reaction. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions for us? Thanks for your time,
Sara
