I only use injectable anesthesia for pre euthanasia and I like Telazol. You
need a very small amount, either im or sq will work. Some drift off very
quickly some take a few more minutes. This is nice and once they are off to
sleep the owners don't need to stay for the final injection, but can. I
dose based on size and don't use an exact measure, but anywhere from 0.05cc
to 0.15cc can be used. if a bit much is used it just makes them deeper. It
is very smooth, non stressful and the injection can be given with the ferret
in your arms. I use the same procedure for dogs and cats and it just makes
the final moments more peaceful and help make a difficult time just a bit
easier. Hope this helps. If you are unfamliar with the drug and
interested, email me off list and I will give you the ingredients. Hope this
helps.
