Have you considered IBD or a partial bloackage in the stomach? Those often cause liver and sometimes pacreatic problems.
We've got one (Sherman) with a weird infection process going on, it appears. I posted just a little while ago with the meds we are using for that and his test results are available in past posts in the complete archives at
http://fhl.sonic-weasel.org.
BTW, tonight Sherman had his first true normally firm and tubular stool in so long that we can't recall when the last normal one was for him.
