Is it vomiting or regurgitation?

Vomiting comes from the stomach and contains stomach contents and has that acid smell. Regurgitated food doesn't reach the stomach before it comes back up.

Our Sherman has some sort of GI infection which is a nasty and it irritated his IBD which caused meds to pass too fast causing more Addisons trouble. He had terrible regurgitation, especially of fluids.

The meds which are working for him can be found at
http://fhl.sonic-weasel.org/browse.php?msg=SG8983.
Some of those are meds for his IBD or his Addisons, though. You r vet will know which is which for you.

We find a/d a WONDERFUL food for sick ferrets. Often we mix it with heated water.

Cream caused very bad further problems for Sherman which was weird because he actually is very tolerant of many foods despite his IBD.

As has been said, don't discount the idea of a partial blockage (for which x-rays so often don't help) or some other cause.
