Subject: Seperation after Surgery

How long does a ferret need to be seperated from other ferrets after surgery? Is it just a few days or until he heals? My little boy has to have a mast cell tumor removed (not major surgery) but he's got serious codependency issues. Do I just need to supervise play or keep them completely seperated?
