Subject: Enlarged liver?

Not quite sure what is going on for my little guy. I have a 4 year old neutered male ferret. He recently has gotten less active and his stomach is big. He looks like he has an enlarged liver or spleen, not sure which. You can feel it easily and you can see it as well (he is white.) His appatite is good, but his energy level is low and his nose is dried and getting scabs on the top. Can anyone suggest anything as to what his condition might be? I work at an animal hospital, but my Dr's do not treat ferrets. I did have an w-ray done of him, but since my Dr. doesn't really treat ferrets he's not quite sure what to do. I am planning on taking him to a ferret vet this week, but in the meantime wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions? One last thing, I have had this ferret for 5 months now and he has always had a pot-bellied appearance, so that has not changed for him, but being able to feel his enlarged liver or spleen is new as is the low energy level and the dried nose. Help!
