I believe it's felt that adding diazoxide will permit you to lower the amount of pred given, but it doesn't require lowering it.
I have also found in two cases of my own that diazoxide seemed to cause symptoms that would indicate glucose levels went down after dosage, not up.
Diazoxide doesn't work well for a lot of ferrets. If you're not seeing the desired results, your ferret is probably one of them.
