Greetings everyone,

I am writing to discuss a skin problem on a ferret that is staying with me,
a cuddly little guy named Kodo. He's 3 1/2 years old, and very healthy,
but has a strange spot on his skin. It's a raised area on his neck that is
approximately 1/8" in diameter, and feels rough. The color of it seems
very normal in the center now, but had been an orangish color for a few
days, and it seems to have little red sore spots out around it. It's very
small, which makes it very difficult to see or get a picture of.

We haven't seen any other spots like it on him, or any of the other
ferrets. At first we thought it may have been a bite mark from one of the
other ferrets (my deaf gal Vivi is very rough during play with other
ferrets), but after keeping an eye on for a week, it doesn't seem to be
going away. However, it does seem to have gotten slightly larger in
diameter, though barely noticeable, and it doesn't feel quite as raised.

We looked over some reliable sites about skin tumors, but it looks nothing
like any of them.

Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts on what this could be? I know a
picture would greatly help, but I really can't get a picture of it.
