Hello again everyone,
I thought it would be best to post my ferrety troubles each in a separate
post, so here comes another.
Fria, our 4 1/2 year old girl has a swollen vulva. You can see how big it

blurry, but I think you can get the general idea. She was seen by our vet,
who put her on 0.25 ml of Baytril, given by IM injection, for 2 weeks to
start.
After about 2 days of the Baytril, we noticed a discharge from her vulva,
and it seemed to be very slightly smaller in size. However, after the 2
week period was over, it was only slightly better, so the vet prescribed an
additional week of Baytril. At this time, he also did a CBC to look for
anything unusual. He felt that her blood work was not looking good, and
that it was likely that she has Adrenal Cancer.
We, along with the vet, decided that after the shots were done, we'd give
it a little bit of time to see how things went. Unfortunately, the 3 weeks
of Baytril seemed to do very little for her, except make her cranky. Her
vulva is still swollen, and she still has discharge that needs to be
cleaned off daily. Her vulva has not changed much, neither good or bad,
except that it doesn't look very red anymore, it seems quite white.
She really shows no other signs of adrenal whatsoever, she's acting normal,
eating, drinking and pooping normal. I'm not here to ask if she should go
back to the vet, I've already decided she is, but I'm hoping for some
thoughts from you all.
If anyone has any ideas on this, please let me know. Has anyone ever seen
a ferret with Adrenal Disease whose only symptom is a swollen vulva? And
what could a CBC tells us in regards to Adrenal Disease?
