With a swollen vulva (and it looks like also fur loss in the photo) it is probably an adrenal growth.

I don't think we have ever personally had one with an unresolved vaginal infection who did not have a bit of pyometra of the uterine stump secondary to an adrenal growth (then resolved with adrenal surgery), ditto one with repeated vaginal infections which would resolve for while -- also adrenal.

This ferret is spayed, right? If not, then we could be talking about an entirely different kettle of fish.

As usual, here's a periodic reminder that I certainly am not a vet...
