An ultrasound is great for looking at heart function and form, but because of the amount of air in teh chest it isn't always the best thing for imaging possible masses i the chest. It's been a while since that set of x-rays. Have you considered doing a repeat of the x-rays from the same angles while ultrasounding the heart to be safest?

Sometimes an imaging test can show up an artifact which isn't really there, or may show up a transient thing like a temporarily swollen lymphnode.
