Subject: Amlodipine Dose for Ferret?

Has anyone had experience using Amlodipine on ferrets with cardiomyopathy.
My Buddy is now on 0.22ml of Furosemide 2X daily. It is becoming necessary
to up the dosage, but the kidney levels indicate that would not be good.
Buddy had a echocardiogram and electrocardiogram last Friday. This vet
indicates the drug of choice, Enalapril will also be hard on kidneys. Her
next choice is Amlodipine to reduce blood pressure, but has no experience
using it in ferrets. She was to research and get back to me, hopefully
today.
Buddy's main problems are:
thickening/leaking mitral/aortic valves
moderate left atrial/left ventricular enlargement
There is fluid around the heart/lungs, we added nitroglycerin cream to the
ear 2X daily, that brought relief. That will be two days on/two off. Buddy
has problems on the off days.
I hope this is enough info, any help greatly appreciated.
