When Meltdown needed Digoxin we had already been told by Dr. Bruce Williams that the rate of problems with it is lower in ferrets than in other animals, and I'd have to say that our experience with her echoed just what he said. We respected the med; it's not one to treat lightly, but despite having ventricular bigemini and trigemini which nothing else would control she went on to live a very long time with her cardiomyopathy, something like a year to a year and a half, passing at around 8 and 1/2 years old. That's pretty incredible for an animal who on diagnosis was in the "could go anytime" category. When needed and respected Digoxin is a marvelous medication.
