My vet recommended I give our dog Yucca. It's a mild anti-inflammatory. What
I have here is *Sun Gold* 75% pure Yucca Schidigera. Label says for horses,
dogs, cats. Beau weighs 97 lbs and gets 1 tsp 2X day. Has been on this for
two years, no side affects except it helps his elbow. The better brands of
cat food have yucca extract for litter box odor control.
Perhaps there are parts of the yucca that are toxic and removed before
processing?

[Moderator's Note: That is certainly possible. It seems like the sort of thing for
which someone thinking of using Yucca should pay for a short clarification with the
ASPCA poisoning experts unless the specific product comes vet recommended.]
