Subject: RE: Return of adrenal symptoms after bilateral with Addisonian
Message-ID: <4920088.1088876795145.JavaMail.root@thallium.smartgroups.com>

Hi Dan,

I'm seeing a similar pattern with one of my males right now. He is a bilateral, with advancing adrenal signs, but I cannot take him off of the Florinef and Pred.

Despite 2 monthly Lupron Depot injections, he hasn't shown the first sign of coat regrowth, however, I am finally seeing a diminishing in the orange dermatological signs. Maybe hair is in his future.

Theory I was offered: there may be adrenal cells left that are causing the adrenal signs, but it may not be able to function like normal cells so he still needs the Florinef and pred.

He feels good and is active.

I have had two other ferrets do this after bilaterals, but they didn't need the supplements. One male even had a second bilateral, which both tumors proved to be malignant by pathology.
