Is it true that an ill ferret should not be hand-fed (ie gerber 2nd stage chicken)? Someone once told me that it's better not to feed them, just to keep them hydrated. On some level this makes sense as it would take extra energy to digest the food. I'm not sure if they meant to withhold food, or just not coax them to eat.
