As others have said, YES! Fruit is something he can't
digest and excess sugars are best avoided. As others
have said, go with meat based treats.

There are some commercially available ferret treats
that are primarily meat based (no worse than his food)
which might be more convenient and more interesting to
him than people food. Totally Ferret treats are a
good example. Read ingredients, avoid sugars and
fruit.

I agree with those who said Marshall's produces
mountains of smelly poop. You can, once his stomach
is settled and the diarrhea is gone, begin changing
over to a denser high quality ferret kibble. You want
ones that are high in protein and fat. Totally
Ferret, 8-in-1 Ultimate (*NOT* Ultra), Zupreem Ferret
Diet, and Mazuri are just a few brands that are good.
There are more. If you decide to go this route you
will mix just a little in with his Marshalls. If he
eats both you can gradually increase the new food and
decrease the old.

Please note that all these foods cost more than
Marshalls, but since they are denser he will eat less
to get the same nutrition. In the long run you will
find they may cost more per bag, but the cost for a
month's supply of food won't be more than what you are
paying now.

All the best,
Caity and the super six
