Hello Claire-

On jubilee the ONLY thing that enlarges the vulva is prolonged hormonal
input which is from hyper adrenal syndrome.

I prefer not to call it a disease after all it is a endocrine gland which
is in hyper rive. How MANY monthly lupron depots did you attempt? I would
recommend a series and NOT more than 28 days apart. That has worked here.

Also if the vulva has been enlarged for a while you would be wise to have
the vet run blood to check for anemia. It is not unusual for an adrenal
ferret to develop hemolytic anemia... as the ferrets body is in an estrus
like state the body temp rises-- prolonged states can cause the bone marrow
to suppress red blood cell production... so to be on the safe side
ESPECIALLY before another surgery is contemplated have the blood checked!

Not to be a party pooper BUT here 95% of all adrenal ferrets become
bi-lateral ( meaning second gland is effected about 18-24 months from the
first excision.

It does sound like she had a real rough time. I would be interested in
knowing what the post surgical process was at the vets office. ....

A caution on prolonged Baytril-- it can render the ferrets blind we have
had 2 lose eyesight for continued treatments!

HUgs - and many good wishes coming your way--
Alicia
