My female ferret, ~5 years of age, is now getting over ECE. I am amazed at how quickly she lost weight at the beginning of the illness (~3 days), and is gaining weight now (~2 days). Has anyone else noticed this kind of loss / gain?

Out of curiosity, does ECE weight loss affect the slender-bodied ferrets (I think they're called wippet types) more so than the broader bodied ferrets? It seems as though the broader bodied ferrets have more muscle mass (or perhaps they are bigger boned?) than the slender-bodied ones... Why does this happen?
