Does anyone on this list know of a chemo protocol that
isn't IV and doesn't require pediapred? The reason I
ask is my 5 yr old female ferret has lymphoma for
which she was receiving Leukaran, I believe, two times
week and pediapred daily. She developed high
glucose/diabetes. I posted about this a few weeks ago.
She received insulin 3x/daily, then 2x/daily and after
being within normal ranges for glucose I was
instructed to stop the insulin which I did about 10
days ago and she continues to be negative on glucose
and ketones on urine strips. Blood glucose has also
been checked and is ok. She hasn't received any of the
chemo since the glucose went up, she was on the
protocol for three weeks prior to stopping it. The
lymph nodes in her neck which were huge had gone down
to normal and are still normal. But the vet doesn't
want to restart the prior protocol because of the
pediapred. She is researching alternatives but so far
hasn't found any so I thought I would ask this list.
Thanks in advance for any help that any one might
give.
