Thanks for your reply.

I took him to the vet today (the first one I had gone to, only because she was open).
Had her take xrays which showed only an enlarged spleen which she felt was what
she would expect of a ferret with such a high fever, and saw nothing to make her
think JL. She gave him more sub q fluids and started him on Baytril. I spoke to her
at noon and she said is fever had dropped from the 105 when I got him there at
8am to 104.5. She said that she didn'
t want him on the clavamox if he was getting the baytril. I had to leave him there
when I went to work and had to have a friend pick him up since I got out after the
clinic closed. When my friend got there she had left and the vet tech told her no
change in my meds (which contradicted her previous comment about discontinuing
the clavamox), and that she had "fed him and everything" before she left. I don't
know at this point if she gave him the pred or not so I don't know if I dare give it to
him. The clinic is now closed. His fever is down to 102.7 but his attitiude is almost
the worst I have seen. He is not too alert and is completely lethergic. Has little
ability to walk or stand. He is a shadow of what he was yesterday and is definitely
worse than this morning.

If you get this tonight and can offer any suggestions, I really don't know what to do.
Thanks!
Joan
