If you look at the ingredient list on the package, you will see that 99% of what is in the 8-in-1 (walmart) treat mix is not digestable by ferrets.
My little girl also had soft stools. The vet had me deworm her and although I didn't see any worms in the stool (like I did with my dog) she's having better stools now. He also has me supplementing her diet with Marshall's bandit treats (6-10 a day) and gerber baby food which also makes a big difference.
