Hi Karen!
I asked this same question of my vet after a recent DIC nightmare. His
response was that he was uncertain, but Boo's chances may be somewhat
increased in the future under similar conditions. He was unable to provide
even a percentage guess on the risk of reoccurrence. It was decided that
any future treatments would involve exhausting all alternative options and
that surgery would only be a last resort.
I know this doesn't really answer your question. I share your worries. I
look forward to hearing feedback on your post.
