My Kidd crashed last month, glucose was 53. First and only symptom, that I
know of. My vet has him on prednisolone .5cc 2X a day until the end of this
month. He has had no more episodes. This vet suggests surgery early when the
health is good, and they are fairly young. The Kidd is 3 1/2 , and otherwise
in great health. Now that he is doing so well, it's hard for me to think
about the surgery, but this vet is experianced, and I trust her judgment.
She operated on my other boy for adrenal, and brought my Buddy back from the
dead with his cardiomopathy. I feel very fortunate to have a good ferret
vet, I just wish everyone did.

[Moderator's reminder: It is best to give medication doses in mgs when possible or
to add the mg/ml when giving volume. Many liquid preparations, including
Pediapred and its generics come in assorted strengths, so just giving the volume of
the dose (ml or cc) doesn't say how much of the actual med is given because the
concentration -- the mg/ml isn't known. If that figure isn't on the bottle your vet or
prescribing pharmacy will know. Thanks much.]
