Hi Cheryl:
I live in NY and I must say that Ferrets aren't legal here. However, I =
never ran into any problems when I had my furry boy (1994-2002). It's =
important however to ensure that your ferrets have up to date shots and =
that you carry those verification papers with you while traveling in the =
city. As for Vet recommendations, I took my boy to a Vet in the Bronx for =
=
several years before joining this list and realizing how little, or should =
=
I say, out of date his methods were. I was never to thrilled with the Vets=
=
around here, and truth be told, not many Veterinary hospitals treat =
exotics. One of the Vets on this list recommended Dr. Nick Sitinas to me =
but he's located in Connecticut. However, you can take Metro North trains =
=
to his location:
South Wilton Vet Group
Dr. Nick Sitinas
3 Danbury Rd
Wilton, CT 06897
(203) 762-2002

Here's an emergency clinic in Manhattan that treats ferrets 24 hours a day:=
Animal Medical Center - Ask for Exotic's Service
(212) 838-8100-For General Info.
(212) 838-7053-For Appointments
Dr. Sheff
Dr. Quensenberry
Dr. Wade (Intern)

Here are some sites that I never got to try but may serve useful to you if =
=
you ever get a chance to check them out:
Broadway Animal Hosp of Riverdale
Dr. Scott Luckow
5664 Broadway
233 street in the Staple Shopping Center
Bronx, NY 10463
718-543-5600

St. Mark's Vet
3148 East 9th St
Manhattan, NY 10002

Good Luck,
Mary
