This sounds like the tissue was detached for a bit, then when it reattaches
regardless of where it can becoame functional again. I see this when I do
thyroidectomies in cats, the parathyroid gets affected and looses it blood
supply for a bit, but since it is a gladular organ that can function
separately (so to speak) it can reestablish this blood supply and become
funtional again. These cats get a ver low calcium, so we supplement a bit
and they eventually can be taken off. It is also similar with ovarian
tissue, if part of it drops back into the field when removing and not caught
then it can become active again thus the problems with spayed females that
you so often read about. Hope this is clear.
