Subject: Blood and froth in lungs

Keep in mind I am NOT a vet, but a registered nurse who cares for cardiac
patients. Bloody, frothy secretions are found in the lungs and airways of
patients with congestive heart failure/pulmonary edema. Could it be a
possibility that the little ferret had undiagnosed heart disease?
