How was the feces checked for blood? I ask because digested blood is not red. Digested blood is the type you get when there is bleeding high up in the digestive tract, like in the stomach. It is usually black, but we learned the hard way that it can also be very dark green when we missed spotting what was going on at the end with one darling in our family who had an ever worsening stomach malformation as well as hand malformation (taken into our family due to his health problems), so know also that with ulcerations the stools can be black, blackish, or dark green.

There could be some damage from a shifting blockage.

Is the ferret still having trouble going to the bathroom? If so, even though it is a long shot know what we learned more recently: that a urinary tract blockage can cause constipation, too. (See recent posts on Hilbert and Mornie if that winds up suspect and please read the replies from others on them, too at these discussions:

And as I remind folks periodically, I am not a vet, just someone with a long standing strong interest in improving ferret medical care.
