"Fuzzy" has always been one of my smallest babies. He's a male, from a shel=
ter and we are guessing his age at 5-ish. He normally romps and plays with =
his brothers and sisters nightly. I let them all out for their 4 hour nigh=
tly romp ( they are not caged, they have their own "bedroom/habitat"), but=
for 4 hours every night they join the humans and play in the living room.=
Tonight, he tried to play but cannot use his hind legs. He is dragging hi=
mself around. He doesn't seem to be in pain or discomfort. He has let me ex=
amine his hind quarters, nothing appears broken or tender as far as I can t=
ell. I took him to a Vet this morning and they did some x-rays to see if he=
"broke" something. The Vet says that she seems to think that 2-4 vertebrae=
in the area just above the tail are "crooked". She thinks he may have play=
ed too hard with his brothers and they injured him. She thinks...I asked he=
r to do a panel for blood work but she insisted this would be a waste of mo=
ney. Instead she ordered "cage rest " and isolation for 10 days (to see wha=
t happens). What on earth could this possibly be? He was using his legs las=
t night. Any ideas?
