May also want to try to find the owner. Although, he may have traveled a
distance
someone paid money to de claw him-he may just have gotten lost.
I would try just posting on the FML , local
humane societies, vets, and give very general info, if too much anyone
could claim him-
probably leave out the de claw
and the different colored eyes so if someone calls saying it is their
ferret- and is
de clawed you can be pretty sure they are telling the truth.

I agree with the period of quarantine. Get him vaccinated during that
time and ADV tested.
Also can observe how friendly he is, and at end of quarantine can see how
he reacts around
other ferrets. My whole male is pretty calm, he doesn't accept new
arrivals so well, but
either do most of my fixed ferrets. The only down side is when he is in
rut, his smell, and
behaviors change at this time. If he is neutered it will make things
easier for all.
