Yes, Prednisone and Prednisolone (which works better for some ferrets because it skips the liver processing step) CAN have a very rapid effect. It very quickly stimulates appetite and reduces inflammation. It also seems to give some individuals a "buzz". Oh, and of course if her blood glucose is down it will bring it up to better levels. Among the things it is used for are insulinoma, lymhoma, and carcinoma.
