I've had my share of ferrets with insulinoma. Can't say any one of them had a problem with their eyesight, even into old age.

Penny, on the other hand, will be 7 in December, has never had a blood glucose problem (knock on wood!) and we have noticed over the last six months or so that she's bumping into things. In May I had her in for a major physical exam, complete blood workup, etc., just because of her age and I mentioned her loss of sight to my vet. He couldn't find anything physically wrong with her. No cataracts, retinas looked normal, etc.

So there you go. A number of ferrets with insulinoma and no eyesight problems and one without insulinoma losing her sight.
