Feeding kibble, or meats? Aggressive by attacking anyone near the food, like a dog would do? Or just tearing in with enthusiasm?

no, kits are nippy/bitey and mouthy and can be a handful because they are also balls of energy and learning. Over food they may dig in with enthusiasm, and eat a lot. If there are a lot of ferrets with one bowl there may be some pushing others out of the way, like in petstore scenarios. If you just got the kit, may be hungry and picked up some habits from fighting for food at the petstore?

Food may also need to be softened if very young.

Mine can be a little more "aggressive" over meats, like tearing at it and running to eat it in private, but not towards me really.
