Oh lord! Ive been writing in for some advice on gerty the past few days. =
On wednesday she was given lasix for her newly found cardiomyopathy. She h=
ated taking it! On thursday night she was acting very lethargic and her ey=
es were very glossy. I forced down her 2nd dose of lasix and she immediatl=
ey started throwing up. After her fit she went back to her cage and hit th=
e hay. About 2 hours after i let her out and it seemed she was having trou=
ble going to the bathroom. She would go a little bit anywhere she could. Sh=
e kept scooting her rear end around and licking around that area. I notice=
d she really hasnt been eating so i forced fed some baby food and some wate=
r. Every so often she would act like she had to hrow up. The next morning i=
took her to he vet. The dr. said she had stomach ulcers and gave me some =
amoxidrops and carafate. The only explanation for her potty trouble was th=
at the lasix was causing her to go more and it was irritating her. Gertrud=
e was fine before she started her meds, except for the coughing. I really =
dont know what to do. If he lasix is making her act this way id rather her=
be happy without it, if that makes any sense.
Any help would be great!
