This is a good chance to clarify this.
When a plain old fashioned recommendation without discussion of cases the vet has handled is mentioned then, yes, the vet and hospital can be named. Recommendations can also be sent to Pam Sessoms, co-moderator (There are 5 of us.), to be placed into the list of vets in the Reference Shelf which is within Files at

When a paper or talk by the person is mentioned then a vet can be named.
Vets can't be named when there is actual discussion of a case. This is for the comfort and protection of both the commenting vet and treating vet. Sadly, we had a case in the long past in which a member who was not associated with the vet or the ferret discussed decided to behave rudely toward a treating vet who had been named.
So, yes, feel free to give recommendations without publicly discussing cases the vet has treated.
