I'm no vet but I'll answer anyway. :) I don't know if a maximum dose of Lupron has ever been determined. Plus, the question would have to be, what was the dose of 4-month and what will be the dose of 1-month?

Dr. Charles Weiss wrote an article on his Lupron protocol and he recommends 2 mg (2000 mcg) of the 4-month Lupron. That's 500 mcg per month. Is Jubilee getting anywhere near that now? Most don't give that much.

So I'd say you have to look at it this way: If Jubilee got a 1 mg dose of 4-month Lupron, that's the equivalent of 250 mcg per month. If you add a 100 mcg 1-month injection on top of that, for a total of 350 mcg, she's still receiving less than what Dr. Weiss recommends.

There's no difference in the actual drug. It's all leuprolide acetate, just in a different time release formulation.
